What We Do

The Clark County Veterans Assistance Center (CCVAC) aims to provide a welcoming and safe environment for the purpose of assisting Clark County Veterans and their families in obtaining benefits, services, and resources to meet their basic needs. CCVAC strives to support the reintegration of military Veterans into the community.

Our Services

The CCVAC offers a number of services in addition to financial assistance for qualified veterans. If you are a veteran in need, we encourage you to contact us or stop by to see how we can assist you.

  • Financial aid through the Veteran’s Assistance Fund

  • Free food for hungry Veterans in need

  • Free hygiene items

  • Outdoor equipment for homeless Veterans: backpacks, sleeping bags, etc

Our Services

  • The center aims to provide a safe space and basic services for all veterans in the clark county area. Basic necessities are also provided at this location including clothing, food, hygiene Items, backpacks, and sleeping bags. Breakfast and lunch are also provided daily.

  • The Veterans Assistance Fund administered by the Clark County Veteran’s Assistance Center offers financial assistance to low income, qualified veterans who need help. The fund helps Veterans bridge financial difficulties until they can secure permanent employment or survive a difficult financial period. The fund is supported by tax dollars and has limitations.

  • Get help filing a disability claim with the Veterans Administration (VA). CCVAC has Veteran Service Officers (VSOs) to help Veterans/families file or follow up on a disability claim.

  • The Helping our Heroes Fund raises funds for CCVAC’s goal of assisting Active Military, Veterans and their families in obtaining benefits, services and resources to meet their basic needs.

    The need to support our local military community is still great and thanks to your generosity, CCVAC is here to assist.

    All active duty, guard members, reservists and veterans living in Oregon and Southwest Washington are eligible to access funds, if they meet the following criteria:

    • They were deployed at some point during service

    • If they are a veteran, they were honorably/general/general under honorable conditions discharged from service (Must produce their DD214)

    • Produce a Photo ID

    • Must write a statement/explanation of why assistance is needed

    • Helping our Heroes will require a copy of bill before any consideration will be made.

    Any member of the Guard or Reserve can contact the state Guard Bureau for their state to obtain form NGB-22 which serves the same purpose as a DD-214.

  • Apply on line at VA.gov: https://www.va.gov/records/get-veteran-id-cards/vic/

    You will need a digital copy of your DD214, a form of ID such as driver’s license or passport and a picture.

    Apply at the Reserve Center:

    Mon – Fri by appointment only – call (719) 366-5403.

    Update your Driver’s License:

    Take a copy of your DD214 to your nearest driver’s licensing office and they will add “Veteran” to your license for free.

  • Examples of the types of donations we accept include:

    • Canned goods (e.g. vegetables, chili, soup, fruit, etc.)

    • Dry goods (e.g. mac & cheese, cereal, hamburger helper, etc.)

    • Non-perishable items (e.g. peanut butter, potato chips, granola bars, etc.)

    • Drinks (juice boxes, capri-sun, etc.)

    • Personal hygiene items (e.g. bar soap, (full size) toothpaste, deodorant, etc.)
