CCVAC'S STAND DOWN 2023 WAS  "OUTSTANDING!"

CCVAC'S STAND DOWN AND EXPO 2023 WAS THE BEST ONE EVER! CCVAC has so many people, and of course, ALL OF YOU to thank for that.  But first, let's talk about WHO CCVAC served at this year's Stand Down.

This year, CCVAC assisted 43 Female Veterans and 202 Male Veterans! 125 of those Veterans were either Homeless, or at risk of becoming Homeless. CCVAC's mission at our Stand Down Events and Expos is to have one day a year, when our Community comes together and reaches out to our well deserving Veterans and their families, all in one location. CCVAC gathers together a plethora of Goods and Services, which our Veterans can receive and utilize, all at no cost. This offers our Veterans an opportunity to receive a new pair of boots, vaccinations (covid and flu), financial advice, housing information, job resources, and even services for their pets (examinations, microchipping and food), while listening to some great music, having a delicious meal and enjoying the camaraderie of so many other Veterans. Stand Down has become a “look forward to” event every year, for so many. CCVAC was so proud to have had 65 individual providers sign up this year (the most ever), who came together and gave their time and expertise to those who certainly deserve it, can use it, and most of all, APPRECIATE IT!

So, let's start by taking a visual tour of CCVAC's Stand Down 2023!

CCVAC has so many people to thank for helping make Stand Down 2023 Epic!

First, we would like to say a huge thank you to our two extremely talented "photographers" who took these amazing photos at Stand Down. They both took their time, efforts and resources to memorialize the day. First and foremost, we would like to thank Nick Steele, of "Nick & Kristen in the Morning" on 99.5 "The Wolf Radio". Nick has been such a great supporter of CCVAC, and we just can't thank him enough for these great memories he captured, for all to see. And then there is our awesome Board Member at Large, Varun Parthasarathy. Varun is a remarkable software engineer who recently relocated to the Pacific Northwest from Northern California. We are so very fortunate that Varun "found us" by applying to Volunteer at CCVAC. Thank you both again so much!

Now, to all the incredible people and companies here in our Vancouver Community, who gave so selflessly to our Veteran and Military families, we want everyone to know what great heart you all have. So many of you went above and beyond to support CCVAC this year.

Turkey Shoot-Out Northwest made a Huge Donation to Stand Down this year. TSO was founded in 2004 by the Vartanian family to raise funds to support Military Families in Southwest Washington, suffering financial difficulties. Over the years, TSO supported CCVAC and what we do here more than generously. Thank you,TSO for everything you have done for CCVAC, our Veterans and their families!

Other big supporters of Stand Down this year were The Community Foundation of Southwest Washington, DAV Chapter 4, Work for Warriors,

C-Tran - Public Transit, Life Line Connections, The Million Veteran Program, Clark County Volunteer Lawyers Program, Christian Motorcyclist's Association, Counsel for the Homeless, Charter College, Tools for Troops, FVR Libraries, FedEx Ground Employment, Clark College Veterans Center for Excellence, HOPE Dementia Support, and serveral different branches of the WDVA.

So once again, as if you we could ever say it enough, we want to thank this remarkable, caring Vancouver Community for all you do to support and help CCVAC continue its mission to outstretch a hand and an open heart to our Veterans and their families. We feel forever honored to be so embraced and supported by you.

Want to make a difference in the life of a Vet? Come Volunteer at CCVAC! We are always in need of Volunteers at the Center. You just need to be able to commit one day a week, the same day every week, for four hours on a weekday. Click below to get started!

THIS IS JUST ONE OF THE WAYS CCVAC SAYS THANK YOU TO OUR VETERANS AND MILITARY FAMILIES FOR THEIR SERVICE - WE WILL NEVER STOP TRYING TO DO MORE! REMEMBER - YOU’LL NEVER REGRET SUPPORTING A VET!
